Marie Antoinette with Kerston Dunst - if you haven't seen this movie, watch it! The cast is so great and the costumes and decadent scenes like this one will make you want to see it over and over again!

Fat Tuesday is all about blowing it out before repenting for our sins. Since I usually give up sweets for Lent, I thought I would highlight some fabulous cakes. You should know that I sacrifice for 39 days instead of 40 due to a "birthday clause." How does one choose with today's choices of cakes? I'm not exactly sure when cakes became this incredible but I'm pretty certain Martha Stewart played a part in creating Bridezillas across the nation. Once, I asked my son to bring the cake from the car into the party. It was a beautiful Barbie cake - her dress made entirely of cake and frosting. He carried it in like a football. My eyes rolled back into my head and I began to levitate in anger. Fortunately, he lived through the experience but note to self: don't ask a teenage boy to deliver a cake. Happy Fat Tuesday!
