After more than a few posts on color, I needed to get back to white! Off-white or cream has never been my "go to" color because I usually like lots of contrast. However, my friend recently showed me her freshly painted, creamy vanilla bedroom and it was stunning! It was calming from the moment you walked in. It was actually hard to find many of these photos because the trend right now is bright white - especially in kitchens with Carrera Marble. I'm the first to admit that off-white can be beige's boring cousin and remind you of a builder's spec house. However, when mixed with different shades of white, beige and gold, it is luxurious and sophisticated. I ended the post with a scene of the movie, Something's Gotta Give because (A) no one does a cream colored turtleneck better than Diane Keaton and (B) I still need to remind myself to always look to nature for inspiration. Every color in that photo could be the perfect accent pillow or wall color. The key to a young mind is being open to new ideas. One day, an explosion of one fabric, the next, straight up vanilla. Always keep people guessing...
