222 Golden Retrievers recently met at their birth place, Guisachan House, to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland.  The home was owned in the mid-1800s by a gentleman named Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks - later known as Lord Tweedmouth.

My friend's house - love it!  They are a hunting family and
she worked that in quite well.

Animals make my heart sing.  Even as a small child, I was always having neighborhood pet parties catered by moi!  I made gingerbread cakes topped off with whipped cream in The Easy Bake Oven and insisted my cat eat from the pink, Baby Tenderlove highchair.  He obliged me, but not without an angry, swishing tail.  My dog, Alfie, (short for Alfalfa) rode in the basket of my bike to Dairy Queen for a small soft serve cone.  Clearly, I was a bossy little girl.  I guess it was worth putting up with me for the benefit of food and a ton of attention.  I couldn't live without a wagging tail at the door.  Call me a narcissist, but constant adoration works for me!  Using animals for decor is in the same category as most things in good interior design - edit and place tastefully.  I once toured a home where every inch of wall had an animal trophy, including a massive water buffalo head above the master bed.  I don't know about you, but I don't need any extra eyes on me in bed...fake ones or not!  It was disturbing, even by Texas standards!  Anatole France said, “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.”  Indeed!
